Damon A. Smith

Damon A. Smith is a Senior Program Analyst with the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response, Office of Preparedness and Emergency Operations, Regional Emergency Coordination Division, where he is responsible for the readiness and deployment of the Incident Response Coordination Team for domestic and international operations, including emergency response, disaster relief, training and other public health emergencies.  He is also a Lieutenant Commander (LCDR) in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps; America‚Äôs uniformed service of public health professionals.

In addition to his professional endeavors, LCDR Smith dedicates a significant portion of his time mentoring and serving the community with the Omicron Lambda Alpha Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. where he has served in various capacities including Chapter President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary and Director of Membership and Reclamation.  He has also served as the Scholarship Chair for the OLA Education Foundation.

LCDR Smith received his Master of Public Health degree from the George Washington University, School of Public Health and Health Services, his Bachelor of Science degree from Morehouse College and he is currently working towards a Master of Health Science at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
