Heather J. Thompson

Heather Joy Thompson is a diplomat, lawyer, traveler, and "student of the world." Thompson has proudly served her country as a Peace Corps volunteer and presently as a foreign service officer with the Department of State. Through her work, studies, and personal treks, she has traveled to over thirty countries in Africa, Europe, Australia, Asia, and North America and has lived in Italy, South Africa, Germany, Burkina Faso, and Greece. Thompson is passionate about arts, language, and culture, interests she cultivated while a student at Spelman College, where she earned a B. A. in Art and spent a semester in Florence learning about Renaissance art and history and Italian cuisine and society. She speaks fluent French and some Italian. Thompson has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and has been featured in The New York Times, Town & Country, Essence, Ebony, JET, and  Thompson is happily married and enjoys spending time with her family, entertaining and decorating, cooking, and learning about the world and all the fun and amazing things it offers.
